Why It Looks Like This

I know — it's awful. I'm one person building this entire platform, and I'd rather spend my time on the actual site than hand-crafting perfect ads. But here's what I've learned: Meta's new Andromeda algorithm has fundamentally changed the platform into a high-speed creative discovery engine that heavily rewards radical creative diversity over traditional audience targeting. To feed this system the massive variety of concepts it requires to learn efficiently, I'm aggressively speedrunning the launch of orcounselors.com by flooding the zone with high-volume, AI-generated marketing "shitslop."

I openly acknowledge this content is rough and lazy — but I'd rather run a live, messy experiment to quickly test hundreds of different angles and drive adoption than sit on a perfect secret nobody ever sees.

The plan: once this raw volume identifies the winning concepts and builds initial momentum, I pause, refine the successful ads, and inject them with genuine "clinical soul." That's what the Refining The Slop gallery is — movement towards an actual brand.

REFINEMENT March 5–7

The algorithm has spoken. After processing hundreds of creative variations, Andromeda surfaced the concepts that actually resonate with Oregon's therapy community. These winning creatives have been color-graded, re-composed, and polished into assets that are decent after 5 days of iterating and monitoring engagement stats. This is what the entire process is building toward.

Finally. These are the ones that don't make me cringe. The machine learned from the volume below, identified what works, and now I'm taking those winners and making them real. Some of these may stay.

Test Every Format

FORMAT TESTING March 4–5

With enough image data collected, Andromeda needed format diversity: video vs. static, cinematic vs. casual, short-form vs. carousel. The algorithm can't optimize for video if it's never seen video. This phase fed it AI-generated shorts to map which visual formats actually stop the scroll.

Yes, AI-generated videos of fake therapists in fake offices. Deeply weird. But the algorithm needed to learn which video formats work — and you can't test that without making video. These will almost certainly be deleted.

Andromeda's core insight: it needs massive creative diversity to calibrate its targeting model. Each image is a data point the algorithm uses to map audience preferences. This phase prioritized raw volume over quality — dozens of AI-generated images deployed as fast as possible to feed the machine.

This is the ugly part. None of these are good. They exist purely as data points for the algorithm to learn what Oregon therapists respond to by seeing what they ignore. Most are getting deleted.

Before Andromeda can learn what works, it needs to learn what doesn't. These intentionally provocative parodies generate strong emotional reactions — laughs, cringes, shares — giving the algorithm a baseline of raw engagement data to calibrate against. Think of it as teaching the machine what "interesting" looks like.
